America Car Rental requires the following documentation in order to offer the service:

• Minimum age is 21 years old, no maximum age limit.

• Credit Card personalized with the cardholder's full name and at least 1-year-old. 

• Identification with photograph (INE in the case of Mexican customers and passport with photo in the case of foreign customers) from the country of residence.

• Valid driver's license (National or International) ORIGINAL from the country of origin with photo and full name of the person and with at least one year of validity. Digital driver's licenses are NOT accepted.

 

*WE DO NOT ACCEPT DIGITAL CREDIT CARDS OR CREDIT CARDS FROM DIGITAL PLATFORMS (NU, STORI, INVEX, ETC. AND/OR FINANCIAL SOFOM).

*WE DO NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS ISSUED BY DEPARTMENT STORES. 

*WE DO NOT ACCEPT BANK CARDS FROM BANBAJIO, DISCOVERY, BANCO AZTECA, BANCOPPEL.

In certain situations, America Car Rental will ask the customer at the counter for a proof of address and return flight information for the safety of the customer and the car.

America Car Rental reserves the right to decline a reservation if the client does not have complete rental requirements or finds any inconsistency in the documentation. ..

In case of accident or road assistance and this generates fines or tows will only and exclusively by the Customer, is NOT covered by any coverage.

Road tolls are the direct responsibility of the customer, they are NOT included in their rent.

PLI (Damages to Third Parties) It is a civil liability coverage for damages to third parties in your person or your material goods, caused by the rented vehicle. This protection has a scope of $750,000.00 pesos.

*Does not include legal assistance.

 

America Car Rental offers additional responsibilities and/or protections, which may or may not be included in your rental, which can be purchased at the counter for protection and peace of mind. They should not be seen as an obligation but as a necessity for their safety and that of their family and avoid additional expenses not contemplated. 

 

CDW (Collision Liability) It is a protection that reduces the liability of payment, in case of partial or total damages, caused to the rented vehicle, to a deductible according to the requested vehicle, which will be applied when the damages are greater than the deductible stipulated by collision, fire or theft. In case of damages less than deductible, the total value of the damage caused will be charged.


NOTE: Rental vehicles must have this CDW coverage, in case you do not have CDW you must purchase this coverage directly at the counter. In case of not acquiring it the guarantee policy will be applied and the customer will be 100% responsible for damages and/or up to the total value of the vehicle.

  • America Car Rental, DOES NOT have agreements with third parties such as credit cards, websites, booking engines, insurers and/or banking institutions for the protection of damage caused to the vehicle, This type of protection is handled in a refundable manner so the only protected person is the cardholder or insured and you must review the process with your insurance, for this reason NOT APPLICABLE IN OUR LEASE.

  • This coverage does not include other parts of the vehicle (such as glass, rims, rims, etc.), administrative expenses or accessories (such as GPS, infant chairs, personal items, etc.

 

SLI (Civil Liability Supplement) this coverage is an extension and complement of liability insurance with a coverage of up to 3,000,000.00 pesos in damages to third parties, as well as legal assistance if required.

  • This coverage is optional and it is highly recommended to acquire it, considering the new reform to the law of roads, bridges and transport of the Mexican republic, specifically in Articles 63 Bis, 64 and 74 Bis of the agreement issued on 07/2014.

TP (Theft Protection) This protection is an optional coverage that partially releases the tenant from liability for the total loss of the vehicle due to theft. If the customer does not accept the TP, in case of total theft of the vehicle, the customer will be responsible for the replacement cost of the same, up to the maximum amount of liability equivalent to the value of the vehicle. If the customer accepts the TP will only be responsible for the payment of the vehicle deductible.

LDW (Loss Damage Waiver with 0 deductible) This coverage eliminates all liability for damage or theft in whole or in part, offering coverage higher than credit cards or any other means, allows you to control your budget and have no additional charges, this coverage is invalidated if the rental policies agreed at the time of signing the rental agreement are breached. This protection does not include the loss or damage of keys, plates, fines and/or cranes. 


PAI (Personal Coverage of Medical Expenses) With this coverage the client will be covered in medical expenses in case of accident in the rented vehicle, covering only the passenger capacity of the authorized vehicle.

TGI (Rines, Rims and Crystals Coverage) This coverage eliminates any responsibility of the customer for damage to the wheels, wheels and windows of the rented vehicle. Applies terms and conditions in the signed clause on the rental day. (Coverage does not apply if the driver is under the influence of alcohol or drugs).

SRA (Road Assistance) This coverage offers the road assistance required for the rented vehicle, such as: passing current, changing tires, locksmith in case of closing the vehicle with the keys inside, gasoline (does not include the cost of fuel). Applies restrictions.

 

MDW (Minor Damage Coverage) This coverage covers minor cosmetic damage to the vehicle up to $4,000 MXN during your rental *Restrictions apply

 

Important:

If the client has any credit card coverage, it is also important for the client to know that the agreement is between the bank and the client, America Car Rental has no agreement with any bank or third party for CDW / TP (Collision and Theft) coverage in case of total loss or theft and the client must cover America Car Rental at the time and then request clarification with the bank. For the acceptance of this benefit the client must present a letter issued by his bank with the following information:

• Phone number and email for credit card holder confirmation.

• The specifications of the coverage included in your credit card.

 

This letter must be endorsed by the National Insurance and Bonding Commission (Comisión Nacional de Seguros y Fianzas), which regulates all insurance companies in Mexico

 

In America Car Rental we offer the option of additional drivers, which have a cost of 5 USD per day.

Fuel is NOT included in the total cost of the lease.

The customer with the same level of gasoline that receives the rented vehicle must be delivered to the return, same level as stipulated in the lease. There are no refunds for excess gasoline.

If there is any shortage of gasoline, it will be charged as follows:

  • Category A vehicles: 10 USD per missing eighth.

  • Category B vehicles: 15 USD per missing eighth.

  • Category C vehicles: 20 USD per missing eighth.

America Car Rental offers the return of the vehicle, a tolerance period of 30 minutes, after this time is governed under the following conditions:


For each additional hour, it will cost 15 USD depending on the rented vehicle up to a maximum of 3 hours, after 3 hours delay, will be charged the full day.

America Car Rental offers the alternative of making the return of the vehicle for rent in any of its branches nationwide, this service will have an additional and independent charge of the same lease that will be applied to the return of the vehicle and is variable according to the distances between the branch of departure and the return.

America Car Rental will honor all reservations received, these reservations must cover all rental requirements, if not, we reserve the right to decline a reservation, same as it may be if you notice that the information provided is wrong or has been altered (e.g. altered name, altered price, etc.).

America Car Rental offers its services based on vehicle categories and we will respect the code that our partner sends, it is important to clarify that the images of the vehicles advertised are only illustrative so we will honor the category requested, but not the vehicle of the published illustrative image.

It is important to mention that America Car Rental will have a waiting time of two hours from the pick up time that marks its reservation as long as the customer sends their flight data, It is important to note that if your flight is delayed or delayed, the customer must call or email us to notify us of any change in their pickup schedule.


If you do not have flight information after two hours America Car Rental reserves the right to customer service and will be based on vehicle availability.

After two hours delay, the reservation will be considered a No Show and we may or may not honor your reservation, depending on availability.

America Car Rental  offers the authorization to cross the South border of Mexico to the countries of Belize and Guatemala. Only if the next indications are followed:

  • Crossing to Belice

America Car Rental  provides all the necessary documents so you can drive the vehicle in Belize without any charge, the client needs to ask for the document when the leasing contract is made for car rental in Cancun Airport and it will be provided at the same time.

Insurance included in the rental are only valid in Mexico, the client must acquire an insurance that the government of Belize asks for, this insurance must be acquired at the border to be able to drive without any problems.

  • Crossing to Guatemala

America Car Rental , authorizes through a letter verified by a notary the exit of the vehicle and this is a requirement the government of Guatemala asks for. This document has a cost of 180 USD since the document is provided to America Car Rental  and needs to be certified it is necessary to make the next arrangements.

    • Monday to Friday rentals before 12:00 pm will be delivered 48 hours
    • Rentals on Friday after 12:00 pm, Saturday and Sunday, will be delivered the next Tuesday
    • Festive days and Mexican holidays, the delivery is subject to availability of the notary, which can vary between 72 hours.
    • If the client needs the letter at the time of taking the car, two additional days of rental will need to be acquired, since the vehicle will be blocked before to begin the process.

America Car Rental  has subsidiaries on the north border of Mexico but does not authorize crossing the car through the border.

These documents can only be given in, in authorized America Car Rental  locations (they cannot be sent through email, since the document has to be shown physically) so the client needs to inform the nearest America Car Rental  location to receive it when filling in the leasing contract.

The documents need to be solicited from the Reservations department or Customer Service to settle and pay them.

We not allowed cross boarding to Belize and Guatemala from Merida location.

Cross border is allowed from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum ONLY. Border crossing is not allowed into the United States.

America Car Rental will track the cancellation of a booking as follows:

* If the client makes a reservation through a third party ( Broker, OTA, GDS, Travel Agency ) he must request a refund directly from them and will be governed according to the terms and conditions agreed with the reservation channel.

* If the customer made his reservation on the portals and sales channels of America Car Rental, he must request his refund to the following email service@america-carrental.com and/or to the telephone +52 9982536110, which will be under the following terms and conditions:

 Reservations cancelled more than 72 hours prior to the pick up will be without penalty.

 Reservations canceled in a period of 72 hours prior to the time of the pick up, will have a penalty of 20% of the total amount.

 Reservations cancelled within 36 hours prior to the pick up will NOT be refundable.

If the customer does not meet the rental requirements when presenting at the counter, no refund will apply.

It is important to clarify that in case you make a refund, America Car Rental is not responsible for the amount of the commission to which the customer is credited by the banking institution that handles at the time of the transaction.

In case of an accident the driver must immediately and directly inform America Car Rental to follow up with the insurance company, which requires that the driver must be in place of the accident, must be authorized in the lease, and you must also present your current driver’s license with photo.

In the event that the customer does not follow the process due to an accident or road accident, the protection is automatically declined.

America Car Rental will request a security deposit itself which is only a HOLD on your credit card, the blocking amount will depend on the category of the vehicle and the coverage acquire, it can be from 600 USD to 5000 USD.



WE DO NOT ACCEPT CASH


For security no deposits are accepted for the guarantee in cash and/or debit cards (only accepted in lease payment), in any type of currency, only and exclusively credit cards themselves are accepted that must meet the following requirements.

* Must be personalized and at least 1 year old.

* We DO NOT accept credit cards issued by departmental and digital stores or digital platforms ( NU, STORI, INVEX, ETC and/or SOFOM FINANCIAL).

 

America Car Rental offers road assistance to all its customers without exception, you will only have a charge if the customer does not purchase SRA (Roadside Assistance) coverage.

In the event that road assistance is generated by negligence, mishandling and/or misuse of the vehicle the customer will have a charge, which will be according to the quote for the damage generated.

It is important to mention that America Car Rental offers vehicles with conditions for tourist use and normal day to day use, not so to use on sandy beaches, unpaved roads or rocky areas.
